I am so sick of myself. I see why people can hate me; after all, it takes one to know one, right?

I can't believe how g*ddamn messed up this is. Why am I just staring at my phone, not doing anything at all, waiting for you to talk to me or to reply to my messages, when I could be doing something productive and actually healthy? This is no life. This isn't anything but pathetic.

P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C.

I have no clue why you aren't talking to me but I can't take it. I hate feeling this insecurity, this vulnerability. I'm pointlessly wasting my time and energy wondering why you've been so distant recently and it's annoying as hell.

You know who you are.

First day of school! Yay for Ms Thng allowing us to use the Macs during our ICT program for our own use. She is so awesome, man. Too bad this is a one-off deal though.

So far, it's been pretty okay. Had one period of P.E in which everyone was goofing around while Ms Talib met with those who needed to change their NAPFA scores. Surprisingly, I managed 23 points and a Gold. Totally unexpected, I thought I was gonna get Silver for sure.

Right after that was Chinese which was so chaotic. We were waiting for the teacher for like, ten minutes in the wrong class. After some of the guys came in to tell us where the new classroom was, we had to rush to the fourth floor. Not much use though, we only had around ten minutes to squish the lesson in so Mr A. started briefing us about his lesson plan for the next semester. I am terrified for the CL Oral coming up on the first of the September holidays. I need to buck up and start communicating in Chinese ASAP.

For Math, Mr Tham saddled us with a boatload of homework. The double period was spent working out algebraic equation/fraction-thingies which he said were the 'appetiser' to the main course, something I'm majorly dreading. Suffice to say, it was boring as anything and I was actually glad that KS knocked into my table, making me more alert.

In about five minutes, ICT will be over and then GG will kick in. We saw the new teacher in some of the other classes and everyone looked as bored as anything. She even looks kind of naggy but I shan't pass judgement on her yet.

Talk to you later, kiddies.

I am addicted to Fort Minor's "Remember the Name".
The Live version is absolutely love but it's the lyrics that make it inspiring. It always seems to echo through my head when I study.

10 percent luck, 20 percent skill, 15 percent concentrated power of will, 5 percent pleasure, 50 percent pain and a 100 percent reason to remember the name.

School's reopening tomorrow, hopefully there won't be CCA. My bag is so heavy! P.E uniform, GG TB, MM TB and art stuff :/ Rachael broke her leg ((or something else that involves wearing a thigh-high cast)) so she won't be around for this week. -sigh-

No more craziness and butt-slapping. Well, maybe only a slight decrease of the former. But yeah.

I think I've finished most of the holiday work. Only left with Ms Tay's Chemistry chapters to read through and finishing the Lit question cards. Wish me luck! I keep feeling that I'm missing some piece of homework though...

I might be blogging less this semester. Or I might not. I guess it depends on my schedule but brace yourselves for weekend updates. Blogging takes time and I don't have enough as it is on a school night.

I am SO curious about our new seating arrangement. I already know I'm sitting next to Charmaine so I'm wondering about the placement and who'll be our neighbours. Be it a noisy or quiet environment, I am determined to work harder to get into the top 20 spot for the cohort.

I HAVE TO GET INTO THE TOP 10%. I HAVE TO.

Saturday, 27 June 2009 @ 02:19

It is 2 in the morning and I have no clue why I'm still awake.

Just finished the Chinese scrapbook, I've been at it for around 6-7 hours. Wanted to get it done in one sitting so I didn't have to go through the whole making-a-complete-battleground-of-my-room twice.

A migraine-ish headache has overcome me and I am cursing myself for my stubborness in the face of inconvenience.

By the way, here's how my room ended up looking, for those curious stalkers who wonder what are the consequences of attempting to create something wonderful.

It's not in the least weird how truly messy my room looks right now but I swear, my room isn't like this all the time. Honestly.

In picture from left to right, foreground to back:

Paper slicer (extremely handy but a tad expensive. lasts a long time though, I've had mine since P3), hole puncher, stack of double-sided tape peelings and black strips, yellow water container, coloured paper, A3 white paper, my handy purple mechanical pencil, double double-sided tape, soft eraser, SHARP! yellow scissors (I get pissed when my scissors aren't sharp), paint brush case, plastic baggies, my marker case, my pencil case, more pieces of double-sided tape peelings, moderately-sized flower cushion, wire for my laptop, more sheets of A3 white paper, box that the CL e-dictionary came in, stack of files and textbooks and stuff.

Tell me all the dreams that you have let slip right through your hands
Do you feel lost inside of someone else's life

And we're not gonna live forever
Can you tell me is it now or never
I'm not gonna make up your mind

I don't wanna live without you
And I don't wanna live a lie
We'll never know till we try
Yeah we'll never know till we try

Failure is the only way to learn till you've come undone
The rest will never find out what they might have been

And we're not gonna live forever
Can you tell me is it now or never
I'm not gonna make up your mind

I don't wanna live without you
And I don't wanna live a lie
We'll never know till we try
Yeah we'll never know till we try

So don't tell me sometime just where did we go wrong, yeah

And we're not gonna live forever
Can you tell me is it now or never
I'm not gonna make up your mind

I don't wanna live without you
And I don't wanna live a lie
We'll never know till we try
Yeah we'll never know till we try

Went to Rachael's house on Friday with the firm conviction that we had to finish both the board game and the video but we ended up not doing much at all. I really wish the school hadn't given us such an early date to do our editing. I mean, hello - we were at camp on that day! Unfairness.

So yeah, we're stuck with Windows Movie Maker when iMovie is so much better. -sigh-

Today's a Saturday and mum came home from Paris offering us wonderfully delicious saliva-inducing bon bons of every sort. Macaroons, my favourite chocolate biscuits, chocolate-coated cereal ((absolutely not like your NTUC's Fruit Loops)), more biscuits and I think some other sweets. I didn't quite open up every bag.

Since dad needed to play golf with some visitors or his boss or something tomorrow, we went for mass today. The RCIA's enquirers were having their acceptance mass and it was considerably long, lengthened by the unheard-of repetitious hymns and brain cell-killing heat. I was sweating right through my jeans.

To make it even worse, there was this pair of bickering teenage girls who were talking non-stop sitting right behind me. Can you believe that they were arguing during mass? And throwing "you're so stupid" and "shut up"s at each other. God, how I wanted to turn around and smack those two out the door and into the carpark. For one thing, don't you feel ashamed of yourself for cursing in church, when you're in the presence of God? And hello - you're a young adult! You know better than to talk in such an insulting manner during mass.

CHILDISH.

Right, after mass, we went to have dinner at Paragon's Spaggedies. Mum and I ordered the wrong choice of food, regretted it afterwards.

Once we finished dinner, we walked over to Takashimaya and I made a beeline up to Kino(kuniya). Spent the better of an hour perusing the YA section looking for interesting stuff but the new Apprentice book wasn't out yet and I couldn't find anything interesting. I think I might need to start discovering new bookshelves at Kino, I'm fast outgrowing my current corner. Finally bought Eragon ((to see whether it's worth the hype)) and Skulduggery Pleasant: Playing With Fire.

Hopefully that $22 was well-spent.

I missed you like a fat kid on a hardcore 3 month-diet misses a KitKat. Really, I missed you. Missed you to the point that I was cursing and swearing all sorts of colours in my head, for the simple reason of not knowing where you were. I think I'm in deep. Help?

Unsuccessfully tried to change blogskin for the past three days. Boring shizz. I feel like moving to tumblr.com and just abandoning this thing because tumblr is a whole lot more cooler than blogger. Honestly.

If you're curious/bored, my tumblr is http://---r---ch-ch.tumblr.com/. Fill in the hyphens yourself. I swear, you won't be disappointed. It has me spewing vulgarities like nobody's business. Quite entertaining if I do say so myself. ((I recall JY telling someone - a girl - that if she was 'innocent', I [kim] would be the purest of the lot. I nearly shed tears laughing.))

Went to Raffles City with Dad yesterday. We were supposed to walk to Suntec to buy some walkie talkie-thing for my brother and we did but we were dumb and we took the underground pass. It definitely is not for the claustrophobic. Imagine thousands of people, jammed into one little tunnel, moving in different directions and even going against 'traffic'. Evidently, we walked along the roads going back.

So, met Cor and even saw him at his job. Shan't reveal it but when you say it out loud, it sounds hysterical and amazingly dodgy even if it IS in a proper company.

Had tea at Gloria Bean's and note to self: never ever eat their lemon meringues again. EVER. Who the hell puts CHOCOLATE in a lemon meringue tart? I was better off with a slice of gooey chocolate cake than that crap.

Walked back to Raffles with Dad and then met mum for dinner. Shopping afterwards at Robinson's, I needed a robe for my swimming costume ((I didn't manage to buy one. They all looked weird.)) and mum wanted jewellery to match a plain black blouse she had bought. Ended up goofing around the sunglasses section trying to find one that'd look good on me and had rose-pink lens.
Recon was futile though, I didn't have the patience nor the thick skin to keep putting on sunnies while irate sales people watched me and thought, "Damn girl's messing up my work. Now I'll have to rearrange these sunglasses."

Round' 9-ish, I dragged mum and dad to B&J's because I was absolutely craving for some of their legendary ice cream. Had a double-scoop Chocolate Therapy in a cup and then rushed into MPH cause' they were having a storewide 20% discount and if you spent over $30, you'd ge a free membership which is like, a super bargain.

Bought Skulduggery Pleasant's The Faceless Ones because they weren't selling Joseph Delaney's stuff and I couldn't find Goth Girl Rising yet. I actually wanted to get Joker by Brian Azzarello but eventually decided against it since mum was already getting another book.

So anyway, to cut the long story short, I gained 1 kg over the past 3 days and made adequate use of the GSS.

Wasn't that wonderful?

((Now where the hell are you, guy friend? Miss you like crazy.))

NACLI
Thursday, 11 June 2009 @ 16:28

HOLY NACLI, BATMAN!

NACLI was awesomeawesomeawesome. Everyone was so hiiiighhhh and enthusiastic and crazaye. The accommodations and facilities were so much like a chalet's and the food was GOOD. Almost like a buffet, where you get to choose what you want and exactly how much of it. There was rice, chicken wings ((WIN!)), kuay teow ((strangely nice 8D)), hokkien mee and some other dishes I can't recall now.

My group was AAACCEEE! Nattapon, Judith, Elaine, Seorin, Jia Xin, Enzio, Jie Ming, Jing Yi, Suda, Ni Wen, Anh and Sheila. We may not have won many things but we beat our own records :D Remember "You're pro! You're very pro!"? Haha, inside joke.

Bunked with Sky a.k.a KengYin, QiaoHan, ZhiYi and NiWen. They're all party animals, man! Rofl. PP 2205 rocks!

I don't want to type out everything we did in great detail so I'll number it by day and time of occurence.

DAY UNO
Ice breakers - Got into our groups & thought of name; played Warriors, Cowboys, Red Indians and SARS. We were the cowboys! "Chukalata, Chukalata, BANG BANG BANG!" Felt bad for the warriors, everyone was 'arrowing' at them.

Rope Game - We had to get to the other side of a skipping rope without it touching us as it turned. Seven levels, we accomplished all! Even the one where our entire cohort had to cross together. Imagine 50 people minus the rope-turners 'chionging' under a rope!

Captains' Ball - we won 2/3 games! Note: Always make use of your strengths (i.e screaming in the case of OLING)

Prep for MAD Night - We got some weird CD with funny techno dance songs on it and our subject for the skit was the 'Cracked Pot'. We kept on mispronouncing the thing so that it sounded like "crack pot" XD Finished the props. JiaXin drew very pretty flowers (:

DAY DOS
Morning Exercise/Assembly - Resung the school song twice. Played some-no-name game where you had to stand in twos around the area and there would be one chaser and one 'victim'. 'Victim' would have to run and find a pair to stand with. Person at the other end of the pair would become the next 'victim'. If you were caught, the roles would switch.

Hula Hoop thing - Made the first record but came in last for the final round. Note: Never start with the tallest person when you have to get into a hula hoop.

Moonball - Since we were the first out and we had no idea how to score, we were thoroughly trashed by the other team. I think the score was like, 21-3? It didn't help that they kept serving first. But we learnt our lesson after that and won the other games 8D Elaine and I were the motivators a.k.a screamers!

Leap of Faith - Everyone was uber excited when we saw the pool we had to swing across. Too bad it was dirty! Had little tadpoles and dead insects floating in it but I suppose it was quite clean considering it was unsheltered from the elements.
I wonder if they put chlorine in it... probably not. Anyway, was the second girl to cross & I said that my goal was to get 5 As by the end of this year. Haha, must've made an impression on the trainer, she kept on repeating my goal to everyone XD Got super sunburnt while on the platform and got kicked in the face and shoulder ((how unglam is that?!)) cause' I was sitting nearest the landing point. I think I might've kicked Nattapon/Ivan when I swung on. Sorry guys. Lol, Louis took Judith's picture! The water was cooling though (:

Dominoes - We made a picture using dominoes and our's was our group name in rainbow gradients surrounded by a two-toned border of different colours. There was this squiggly line going across the inside of the square and another one on the bottom extending down from the border with a star at the end. I came up to talk about the design and said stuff like "we like organisation and clarity in our group, that's why it's either two-toned or one colour, unlike all the other groups which had no colour combis" and "the straight and squiggly lines show that we are creative, we don't just think in straight lines, also think in other ways" ((I think I must've said 'think straight' or something along that line, maybe 'xiang wai', courtesy of JiaYi's translation, which got everyone giggling as they thought of the wrong thing)) and "the stars are what we associate with our group".
Lol, Judith said I'm very good at bull-sh*tting since it was totally impromptu XD

Mad Night Prep - Rushed and rushed and rushed. Don't remember much except it was really humid.

Mad Night - Our group's skit & dance weren't up to par but we didn't care. "Nevermind, at least we'll look like fools together." Really enjoyed everything else though, the mass dances were great! Did it with Judith and neither of us knew what we were doing XD

DAY TRES
Morning Exercise/Assembly: Late again but at least it was faster than the day before by a minute XD Judith and I were the initial 'freezers' for the modified Ice & Water, followed by Nattapon, Amanda and some other people I can't remember. The game was mostly like Ice & Water cept' instead of touching each other to 'unfreeze' the frozen person, they had to run and throw a green bandana which was placed in the middle of the parade square to 'unfreeze' everyone. Haha, Amanda and I were the ones guarding the bandana (: In the end, we still had about four or five people who hadn't been frozen and for their prize, they chose to postpone the start of the next activity from 9 to 9.30am. Thanks guys!

Break - Finished breakfast then went back to the room to change. Still had some time left so I went next door to Judith & Janet's room to play poker with them. I think Janet won the most XD

5 Stations - We did station 4 first and it was the Moonball thing again. We beat our own record! 80 taps! : D We didn't care that it was the lowest among all the groups, we were just glad that we did four times better than yesterday!
We beat the record for the number of rounds in 10mins! Basically, what we had to do was hold wooden rods for a person to walk on and around the planters. First was JieMing, then Elaine, Sheila and finally JieMing again. Enzio and I kept on shouting "You're pro, you're very pro! Good job!" to encourage them and it worked :D

Acid Seas - Felt bad for Anh who was the last one in our group who kept on having to bend down to retrieve the bricks and planks while being shouted at to hurry up from us in front. Nevertheless, we had lots of fun.

Last hour of camp - we had a little session in the Learning Lounge where we were supposed to write our strengths, what we would want to do differently next time and what we appreciated about ou group on to pieces of MahJong paper and I think I was one of the few who actually wrote their names with their statements. Can you spell Goondu? XD
Random, but during the reflection time, they played disney songs and my group was astounded that I knew which movie each of the songs came from, even the obscure Toy Story 2 When Somebody Loved Me song ((which makes me cry every time I watch the movie)) XD See, those P3 years of coming home at 8 o'clock to watch Disney movies did some good after all!

After that, we watched the camp video and it really brought back so many good memories. I can't wait till we get the CD! (: Broke camp, Dad fetched Sky, Melody, Judith & Janet to the MRT station. In my haste to meet Dad, accidentally left my camp booklet in the lounge. -sigh- Nevermind, the images imprinted in my head mean more than pieces of paper.

Alright, that's it. Wow, long post, right?

The Day The Saucers Came-Neil Gaiman
Friday, 5 June 2009 @ 16:44

The Day The Saucers Came-Neil Gaiman

That day, the saucers landed. Hundreds of them, golden,
Silent, coming down from the sky like great snowflakes,
And the people of Earth stood and
stared as they descended,
Waiting, dry-mouthed, to find out what waited inside for us
And none of us knowing if we would be here tomorrow
But you didn't notice it because

That day, the day the saucers came, by some coincidence,
Was the day that the graves gave up their dead
And the zombies pushed up through the soft earth
or erupted, shambling and dull-eyed, unstoppable,
Came towards us, the living, and we screamed and ran,
But you did not notice this because

On the saucer day, which was the zombie day, it was
Ragnarok also, and the television screens showed us
A ship built of dead-men's nails, a serpent, a wolf,
All bigger than the mid could hold,
and the cameraman could
Not get far enough away, and then the gods came out
But you did not see them because

On the saucer-zombie-battling-gods
day the floodgates broke
And each of us was engulfed by genies and sprites
Offering us wishes and wonders and eternities
And charm and cleverness and true
brave hearts and pots of gold
While giants feefofummed across
the land, and killer bees,
But you had no idea of any of this because

That day, the saucer day the zombie day
The Ragnarok and fairies day, the
day the great winds came
And snows, and the cities turned to crystal, the day
All plants died, plastics dissolved, the day the
Computers turned, the screens telling
us we would obey, the day
Angels, drunk and muddled, stumbled from the bars,
And the bells of London were sounded, the day
Animals spoke to us in Assyrian, the Yeti day,
The fluttering capes and arrival of
the Time Machine day,
You didn't notice any of this because
you were sitting in your room, not doing anything
not even reading, not really, just
looking at your cell-phone,
wondering if I was going to text back.

I swear to you, God is more awesome than awesome. He is... Godly XD
Like seriously.

Do you know how weird it is to have your 22-year old brother with someone he is probably romantically interested in and another girl in your dining room playing MahJong and eating durian (oh Christ - the stink!) and then having this major urge to eat Lindt chocolate but you can't since to get to the chocolate, you'd have to pass by them and God knows how awkard that is, right? Especially in your flying sheep flannel jammies'.

So I've been telling myself, "No, kimbo, you do not need chocolate. You don't need chocolate. You don't need chocolate..." for the past three hours but secretly yearning to just suck it up and run down to the kitchen for it and then having to feel like some diabetic who's been cooped up far too long without his artifically sweetened tea.

Anyway, guess God must've heard my distress calls because in comes Dad to my room with not one but TWO pieces of chocolate for me.

Another miracle of God.

((Don't mind me, I'm babbling. I suspect it was the chocolate -half crazed grin-.))

Shakespeare Stockholm Syndrome

For all those suffering from SSS (Shakespeare Stockholm Syndrome), this might make you feel better.

You can't spell 'ramen' without 'amen'.

Thursday, 4 June 2009 @ 23:20

Chris Rock may be vulgar but he is effin' hilarious so go and watch him on youtube. This video is particularly funny.

BTW, Coraline is one of the coolest animated ((does Stop Motion count?)) films I've ever seen. GO CATCH IT YO'.
